Inter Milan plot January swoop for Edin Dzeko

28 November 2013 - 10:38

Serie A giants Inter Milan are believed to be monitoring Edin Dzeko, as the club plans to make a move for a top-class striker during the New Year.

  • Arsenal midfielder eyeing move to Turkish giants

  • The club's Indonesian owner Erick Thohir has hinted that the club are keen on signing a striker during the winter transfer window, in order to stamp their claims for a title challenge in the second half of the Serie A season.

The Nerazzurri have been tipped to spend big during the New Year under Thohir and have been linked with the likes of Edin Dzeko, and Southampton's Dani Osvaldo in recent weeks.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina International goal-machine is expected to part ways with the Citizens having seen Manuel Pellegrini opt for Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo for the striking partnership so far this season, and this could tempt the San Siro outfit in making a January offer for the player.

"In January we will only buy footballers that we need in these moments, and this would be a striker." Thohir said.

Inter have also been linked with a move for Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez.
