Akinfeev for Arsenal?

Akinfeev for Arsenal?

18 November 2007 - 18:13

CSKA Moscow and Russian international goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev is being linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window. The talented keeper is touted as one of the best young goalkeeping talents in Europe.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Milan have also been monitoring Igor Akinfeev's transfer situation and were believed to be tempted to put in a £10m offer for the Russian.

Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the international keeper, and an offer of over £10m will tempt CSKA into a sale.

Jens Lehmann has been continuously linked with a move away from Arsenal, whilst Manuel Almunia; although impressive this year; is not being regarded as the long-term solution to Arsene Wenger's goalkeeping plans.
