Nemanja Vidic to leave Manchester United

08 January 2014 - 06:43

Man Utd defender Nemanja Vidic is likely to quit his club at the end of the season, after the player's agent shockingly admitted that he is unlikely to sign a new contract. The player has already been linked with a transfer to Napoli.

 • Chelsea defender on his way to Leeds United?
 • Chelsea ready to hand Nicolas Jackson fresh chance
 • The player is seemingly ready to quit Old Trafford and finish the season at his current club, but after that his future remains very much up in the air. Vidic has long been linked with a move elsewhere but at this time it remains uncertain just where that might be.
"He's a regular [at United] and the only reason he's not been playing is because of a small head injury," said the player's agent.
"Manchester United have already offered him an extension and there are lots of clubs approaching him, but he wants to finish the season at Manchester United -- and then we'll see.
"He's a very big player and he'll not have any problems finding a new club. For the moment, we're remaining calm because the situation could change from one moment to the next. However, at the moment, I feel I can rule out him signing an extension with the Red Devils."
