Manchester City midfield star Samir Nasri is expected to be sidelined for upto eight weeks, following a knee injury suffered in the club's 2-0 win in the Premier League over Newcastle United at St.James Park on Sunday.
The Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini had earlier admitted that Nasri could be out for several months with a serious injury, but scans later revealed that the setback was not as bad as first predicted.
The French international gave an update on his injury status, he tweeted: "Thank you everyone for your kind words and overwhelming support. I suppose it's kind of good news that I will be out around 8 weeks."
"I have suffered a partial rupture of the internal ligament and a swollen joint."
Manchester City are placed 2nd in the Premier League with 47 points.
