Manchester City and Liverpool scouts have been monitoring Chesterfield born 18-year-old forward Diego De Girolamo. The Sheffield United striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

The highly rated youngster, who has already appeared for Italy's under-18 side, has come through the ranks at Sheff Utd and has only just recently forced his way into the Blades' first team. A few impressive performances have caught the eye of several Premier League scouts and Brendan Rodgers asked his chief scout to monitor de Girolamo in action. <br />

Man City are also believed to be monitoring the frontman and have also contacted Sheffield United representatives regarding the player's availability.
