Manchester City and Liverpool scouts have been monitoring Chesterfield born 18-year-old forward Diego De Girolamo. The Sheffield United striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
The highly rated youngster, who has already appeared for Italy's under-18 side, has come through the ranks at Sheff Utd and has only just recently forced his way into the Blades' first team. A few impressive performances have caught the eye of several Premier League scouts and Brendan Rodgers asked his chief scout to monitor de Girolamo in action.
Man City are also believed to be monitoring the frontman and have also contacted Sheffield United representatives regarding the player's availability.
