Arsene Wenger to extend Arsenal contract

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to continue his reign as the Gunners' manager after the club's chairman Ivan Gazidis confirmed that a deal has been agreed and that Wenger's new deal will be announced when the time is right.

  • The Frenchman has reportedly signed a new three year contract at the Emirates and will extend his stay up until 20 years at the club. Wenger joined Arsenal back in 1996 has been one of the club's most successful coaches of all time.

    "Arsene will be extending with us and at right time we will make that announcement," says Gunners' chief executive Ivan Gazidis in a media meeting this afternoon.

    The former Monaco boss had been expected to tie down a new deal two months ago but has instead been focused what has been happening on the pitch.
