Robin Van Persie set for stunning summer return to Arsenal?

02 February 2014 - 13:05

Arsenal have apparently been associated with a shock move for Manchester United star striker Robin Van Persie in the summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The talented Dutch international, who left the Gunners for a fee of £24m during 2012 summer transfer window, inspired the Red Devils to the Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson last season.

However, with the arrival of David Moyes to Old Trafford, Van Persie is believed to have been unhappy with the Scot's tactical measures, which have seen the club slump to seventh place in the Premier League standings.

The Daily Mail claims that the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on re-signing Van Persie in the summer, with the player open to the transfer. The reports also suggests that Moyes would allow the sale of the Dutch star, should Wayne Rooney sign a new long-term contract at the club.

Arsenal could secure the services of the 30-year-old for a transfer fee of around £15m.
