Jose Mourinho has indicated that he could yet offer John Terry a new contract. The club captain has still remained an important member of the first team this season.
The centre back has always insisted that he has no plans to quit the Blues, but there has been some suggestion that Mourinho is actively seeking a replacement for Terry and is hopeful a deal can be agreed for a new defender in the summer.
Despite talk of a transfer for a new defender, it is now understood that Mourinho wants to extend the contract of Terry for at least another season.
The former England captain is said to be delighted that Mourinho wants to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge and will reportedly take a pay cut to stay at the Blues for another year.
