Werder Bremen stun Real

28 November 2007 - 23:35

Werder Bremen kept their Champions League hopes alive tonight thanks to a 3-2 defeat of Real Madrid in Germany. Los Merengues backline was in a state of disarray as they conceeded some shocking goals.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • Robinho's strike cancelled out Markus Rosenberg's opener but two strikes from Boubacar Sanogo and Aaron Hunt ensured Bremen are still in command.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy pulled one back but his goal was not enough to help Real secure an equalizer.

Despite the defeat, Real are in still in charge of Group C with eight points, ahead of second-placed Olympiakos on goal difference after the Greek side defeated Lazio 2-1.

Bremen lie third on six points points and have to beat Olympiakos in the last match to go through. Bottom side Lazio are a further point behind but still have a chance to progress.
