The Blues manager Jose Mourinho is keen on signing up a top-class defender to replace David Luiz, who looks set to join French champions Paris Saint Germain for an astonishing £50m.

 

However, reports now claim that the Manchester United are desperate to add the talented centre-back to the club's ranks following the departure of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand on conclusion of their contracts.

 

The 23-year-old has made 92 appearances for Porto so far.
