Costa Rica international Joel Campbell has been linked with a loan transfer to Sunderland. The Arsenal frontman spent last season on a loan deal at Olympiakos.
The forward, who has massively impressed during the World Cup, is still considered an important member of the first team by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger but is expected to have been farmed out on loan for a further season. The striker is known to be keen to play in the Premier League as soon as possible and Sunderland manager Gus Poyet wants to bring the Costa Rican to the Stadium of Light as a replacement for Fabio Borini, who returned to Liverpool after last season's loan spell.
