The USA booked their place in the last sixteen of the World Cup yesterday, despite slumping to a 1-0 defeat to Germany.

The Americans knew that they would need a point or a win and hope for a favorable result in the game between Ghana and Portugal.

Thomas Muller scored the only goal of the game to ensure the Germans topped the group, whilst Portugal defeated Ghana 2-1.

The USA now prepare for their game against Belgium in the next round.
