The Nigerian international who joined the Blues from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2012, was shipped out on loan to Liverpool last season, following his failure to impress manager Jose Mourinho.

Recent reports have revealed that the talented winger could be set for another loan switch, with a host of Premier League clubs interested in his services.

According to The Telegraph, Villa are looking into the possibility of signing the 23-year-old on a temporary basis, having cooled down their interest in another Chelsea youngster Christian Atsu.
