Borini - waiting to make a decision on his future

Sunderland await Fabio Borini transfer news

04 August 2014 - 06:29

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is waiting for positive news from striker Fabio Borini, who is deciding whether or not he will make a permanent transfer from Liverpool to the Black Cats.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Borini enjoyed a successful loan campaign at the Stadium of Light last season and Gus Poyet is hoping to make a permanent transfer for the striker.

Borini himself is said to be desperate to prove himself in the Premier League and would prefer to play regularly at Anfield, whilst club manager Brendan Rodgers has also told the Italian that he could end up playing an important role this season but it depends on whether or not the club are able to sign one more striker as a replacement for Luis Suarez.

After a deal for Loic Remy fell through, Borini appeared to have been given a second chance to impress at Liverpool during the pre-season warm up run.

Sunderland will find out more from Borini at some point in the next two to three days.
