Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez looks set to join Monaco after his club signed Keylor Navas yesterday. Lopez has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu for several months.
Real have decided to sign Keylor Navas as competition for Iker Casillas, meaning that Diego Lopez is now allowed to leave and was deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
Monaco had been chasing Victor Valdes for most of the summer but missed out on the former Barcelona man's signature, apparently because Valdes looks set to switch to Bayern Munich to become Manuel Neuer's number 2.
Monaco will pay 1.5 million euros for Lopez.
