Lopez to move to AC MIlan?

Lopez to move to AC MIlan?

05 August 2014 - 15:02

Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez has reportedly rejected his much speculative move to French club Monaco, and is now being heavily linked with Italian giants AC Milan, who are keen on signing the Spaniard.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 32-year-old was the Whites’ first choice shot-stopper in La Liga last season, which put Iker Casillas on the sidelines for the Spanish club.

But with the signing of Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Levante this summer, Lopez is on the verge of an inevitable exit from the Santiago Bernabeu side.

The player, who returned to Madrid from Sevilla in 2013, was previously close to moving to the Ligue 1 side, but fresh reports on Sky Italia suggest that the Red and Blacks’ CEO Adriano Galliani have initiated talks with the Spanish club to permanently bring him to the San Siro to join Christian Abbiati and Michael Agazzi in the goal post.

Lopez had made 36 league appearances for Real Madrid last season, but with his departure Navas looks all set to become Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice this season.
