Defender Daniel Agger has asked Liverpool for a transfer. It is understood that the Danish international wants a move to Barcelona, who are seeking a long term replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.
The 29-year-old, who has forged a formidable partnership alongside Martin Skrtel at the heart of the Anfield side\'s defence, is eager to join the Spanish giants and it is being reported that Barca are to offer 15 million euros for the centre back.
Agger has apparently already opened talks with manager Brendan Rodgers, who has told the defender that he is still very important to the club but Agger\'s long term goal appears to be to quit Anfield in favour of a transfer to the Nou Camp.
