Vidal not for sale, claims Allegri

Allegri insists Vidal's possible to move to Manchester Unites is a rumour

Vidal not for sale, claims Allegri

19 August 2014 - 21:22

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri insists that midfielder Arturo Vidal is not for sale, thus playing down all rumours of the player’s possible exit from the Bianconeri.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 27-year-old has been one of the top transfer targets for Manchester United since the World Cup in Brazil last month as Louis van Gaal was keen on bringing the player to Old Trafford in an attempt to strengthen his attack after a disappointing last season for the Red Devils under David Moyes.

Reports suggested that the Chilean international had even agreed personal terms with the Premier League side, but any deal failed to come through.

And Allegri, who joined the Zebras in the pre-season after the resignation of Antonio Conte, claims that Vidal is not on the market, and feels that the increasing interest from top clubs is merely indicative of the player’s greatness.

“I don't think he's on the market, if that's what you want to know,” Allegri told Tuttosport.

“Great players are always talked about.

“Big clubs are only looking for great players, but Juventus are a great club. So Bayern [Munich], United or Real Madrid can think about him as much as they want”, the Italian boss added.
