Valencia closing in on Negredo

01 September 2014 - 14:28

La Liga side Valencia are reportedly closing in on a loan deal to obtain the services of Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo.

  • Chelsea want to sign Lyon star to replace Jadon Sancho
  • Arsenal want to bring Aymeric Laporte back to England

  • The Spanish international, who joined the Citizens last year from Sevilla on a four-year contract, has been rumoured to a move away from the Etihad Stadium all summer.

With players like Stevan Jovetic, Eden Dzeko, and Sergio Aguero forming Manuel Pellegrini’s attack this season, the Chilean manager is looking to offload the striker with the Bats hoping to rope one in.

According to reports in the BBC, Valencia are hopeful of bringing the 29-year-old to the Mestella stadium on a season-long deal, and with just a few hours left for the transfer window to close, they have included a mandatory purchase clause as a part of the deal to lure the Sky Blues into selling their player.

If this deal comes through, Los Che will have to pay £23.7 million to the Premier League’s reigning champions at the end of the season to secure a permanent move.
