Carl Jenkinson hopeful of Arsenal future

16 September 2014 - 12:17

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson is hopeful that his season-long loan with West Ham United could help him seize a regular place in Arsene Wenger's side in the future.

  • Chelsea winger to join Leeds United or Crystal Palace?
  • Chelsea favourites to sign Kees Smit ahead of Man Utd

  • The England international joined the Hammers on loan for the season, following the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers at the Emirates this summer.

The 22-year-old has now admitted that he is keen on proving his potential to the Gunners boss.

“I wouldn’t say [signing Debuchy] knocks me. I’ve never been someone who gets too disheartened about stuff." He said.

“I’m a fighter and at the end of the day I’ve got a great opportunity now to prove myself at a club like West Ham.”

Jenkinson made 22 appearances for the Gunners last season.
