Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson is hopeful that his season-long loan with West Ham United could help him seize a regular place in Arsene Wenger's side in the future.
The England international joined the Hammers on loan for the season, following the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers at the Emirates this summer.
The 22-year-old has now admitted that he is keen on proving his potential to the Gunners boss.
“I wouldn’t say [signing Debuchy] knocks me. I’ve never been someone who gets too disheartened about stuff." He said.
“I’m a fighter and at the end of the day I’ve got a great opportunity now to prove myself at a club like West Ham.”
Jenkinson made 22 appearances for the Gunners last season.
