Manchester United have been in contact with French Ligue 1 side St Etienne regarding a potential transfer move for left back Florentin Pogba. Ironically, Florentin's brother Paul Pogba - now of Juventus - used to play at Old Trafford.

  • Guinean international full back Florentin Pogba has been with St Etienne since 2012 and has impressed in recent seasons, none more so than this current campaign where his club sit comfortably in fourth place in the league.

Louis van Gaal wants to bolster his squad with another defensive signing before January's transfer window deadline and Pogba appears to be one of the player's that the Dutchman is watching closely.

St Etienne will reportedly accept around 6 million euros for the left back and United are hoping the 24-year-old will ignore brother Paul's advice not to join Old Trafford. Paul Pogba famously left Man Utd on a free transfer for Juventus and is now considered one of the world's best players.

Florentin also has a twin brother, Mathias, who plays for Italian minnows Pescara.
