Tottenham Hotspur have identified Schalke 04's Benedikt Howedes as a top transfer target for the summer, The Mirror reports.
Spurs have struggled to keep clean sheets this season, mainly due to their lapses in central defence.
According to The Mirror, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on rectifying the crisis in the summer, and considers World Cup winner Howedes as his number one choice for the centre-back role.
In addition to this, the North Londoners will table an initial offer of around £13m offer for the German international.
