Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer to agreeing a deal for Barcelona defender Marc Bartra. Spurs are ready to match the 8.
3 million euro release clause in the player's contract. Bartra has slipped out of the Barca first team and only manage a dozen appearances in the club's first team last season, promoting the player's agent to speak to other clubs about a potential move elsewhere. Tottenham want to add some defensive steel to their squad before the start of the 2015/16 season and Bartra appears to be their preferred option. Bartra has three years remaining on his Barcelona contract. 20
