Liverpool are expected to trigger Christian Benteke's buy-out clause in the coming days, according to reports.
The Reds are keen on signing up the Belgian international, but have been put off by Villa's £32m asking price for the talented marksman.
However, The Express cites that they will make a formal offer matching the player's release clause of £32m this week.
Benteke was in top form for the Villans in the back end of last season, and this helped the Midlands outfit beat the drop.
