The France international has been long linked with a move to the Emirates, and a move could be in the reckoning during the summer transfer window.

According to El Confidencial, the 27-year-old could be the subject of a transfer bid from the North London giants, if he fails to earn a starting role during pre-season.

It is added that new manager Rafa Benitez plans to play Cristiano Ronaldo in a centre-forward role, and this could force Benzema to warm the substitutes' bench.

Arsenal could require a fee in the region of £46m to have any chance of signing the former Lyon star.
