However, Bale has often been criticised for shooting recklessly at goal by the club's faithful, and this had led to the speculation that the talented playmaker may seek a summer exit from the Bernabeu.

The Mirror cites that Louis van Gaal could seek to bring in the former Spurs man as his marquee signing for the summer.

United have already signed Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian, and Memphis Depay this summer.
