West Bromwich Albion are readying a £3m bid for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert, according to reports.

The England international joined the Reds from Southampton last summer, in spite of knowing that his place in the starting line-up could be limited.

According to The Telegraph, the former Saints star is expected to be shown the exit door this summer, with Christian Benteke set to join the likes of Danny Ings and Mario Balotelli in the battle for the centre forward role next season.

It is added that Baggies boss Tony Pulis will look to seal a £3m deal to sign up the experienced striker this week.
