Manchester United could renew their pursuit of Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, after Sergio Ramos agreed on a contract extension at Real Madrid.

The Red Devils were keen on landing the services of Ramos, but this looks highly unlikely now after the Spain international had a verbal agreement over a long-term deal at the Bernabeu.

Reports in Spain now cite that the Red Devils will go back for Otamendi, who is believed to be keen on making a move to the Premier League this summer.

United are thought to be confident of clinching a deal for the Argentine defender before the closure of the transfer window.
