Manchester United look set to lose on one of their main transfer targets for the summer, according to reports.
It had been recently speculated that United boss Louis van Gaal had sanctioned two bids in excess £100m for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
However, the Welsh international has insisted that he is keen to prove his credentials at the Bernabeu amidst interest from the Red Devils.
"I am confident anyway, but it's great to have the support of the manager and the president and, hopefully, I can repay them now with goals and trophies," he told reporters.
Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
