Manchester United are understood to be heading Chelsea in the race to land Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann in January.
It had been previously reported that United would consider a move for the France international at the end of the season.
However, The Express claims that the Red Devils could seek to revive their interest in the 24-year-old in early 2016, with league rivals Chelsea likely to make a bid of their own for the talented playmaker.
It is added that United are favourites to trigger the player's £57m release clause with the Blues yet to solve their league crisis under Jose Mourinho.
