Newcastle United will reportedly launch a fresh assault for Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
The Magpies face a major goalkeeping crisis with the likes of Tim Krul, Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow sidelined through injuries.
As a result, 18-year-old Freddie Woodman remains the club's only fit stopper, and has yet to make a league appearance for the Tyneside outfit.
According to The Newcastle Chronicle, Steve McClaren's side could ask the Premier League to provide the option of an emergency transfer window.
It is added that the club will not hesitate in their efforts to land the former Barca star, who has had a dreadful time at Old Trafford.
Valdes has made just two league appearances for United following his January move.
