Alexis Sanchez to rest after injury crisis

21 November 2015 - 07:03

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that star striker Alexis Sanchez will earn a much needed break once the club overcomes its injury crisis.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The Gunners currently have five attacking players in Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, and Theo Walcott sidelined through injuries.

It had been recently suggested that Sanchez could be given a breather during the upcoming clash at the Hawthorns,

However, Wenger feels that the club would have to utilize the services of Sanchez against the Baggies given their lack of strength in the attack front.

"I am worried because before he went away with Chile he was a bit jaded. But if I ask him 'are you tired?' you can guess the answer," he told reporters.

"At some point I will give him a break. At the moment I am a bit short because there's no [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain, no [Aaron] Ramsey, no [Theo] Walcott, no [Jack] Wilshere, no [Danny] Welbeck. There are not many offensive positions where I can rotate."

Arsenal are currently second in the league table with 26 points.
