Arsneal boss Arsene Wenger has already identified a potential replacement for French midfielder Francis Coquelin.
Coquelin is currently sidelined until February after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligaments in a 2-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion last month.
The Gunners have since then been linked with a long list of midfielders, and The Mirror claims that Kenyan international Victor Wanyama is regarded as the perfect fit for the enforcer role.
It is added that the club may opt for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot, should they fail in their pursuit for the former Celtic star.
Wanyama is currently rated at around £15m.
