Spurs weigh up Witsel bid

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be considering a summer bid for Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel. The 27-year-old has been tipped to seek a fresh challenge away from Russia this summer.

Witsel has been a key performer for Zenit since his move from Benfica in 2012.

However, the Belgian international is said to be frustrated at the Russian giants due to their failure to progress in European competitions.

The Sun claims that Spurs will revive their pursuit for the player this summer after they failed to get a deal done for his services during the winter transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are expected to offer a fee of around &pound20m for the player's signature.

Witsel has made nearly 150 appearances for his club till date.
