Belotti on Spurs radar

Belotti on Spurs radar

Rumours in Italy are that Tottenham Hotspur are looking at Torino’s Andrea Belotti as a potential summer signing and to provide some much needed cover for 22 goal England striker Harry Kane.

  • Mauricio Pochettino responds to question on his Chelsea future

  • The Calcinate born forward would be a great fit for Tottenham as he can play up top as an old fashioned forward but can also drop in to those “three behind Kane” that Pochettino has used to great effect this season with Eriksen, Alli and Lamela.

The player affectionately known as Gallo, the Italian for cock which is due to his goal celebration not a reflection of him as a person works incredibly hard and would suit the highly rated Mauricio Pochettino’s high pressing style.

Spurs have sent scouts to watch him playing for the Il Toro’s this season and attention on him is said to be high, Napoli and Inter Milan are also showing interest and perhaps that would be his preferred option as he could stay in his home country.

But with the way Spurs are progressing under Pochettino this season and looking increasingly like they will be playing Champions League football next season he could be attracted to the North London club.

Belotti has scored 10 goals in 32 games this season and that may not be prolific but he is very much a Tottenham signing, he is 22 years old and would be available for around €10 million which would appeal to the frugal Levy with the new stadium developing fast and the costs associated with that.

Spurs have been linked with all sorts of strikers this season including the “other” Moussa Demeble of Fulham, Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez and Diego Rolan of Bordeaux as a summer signing.

One who could be off the radar is 21-year-old French born Sebastien Haller the FC Utrecht striker, who has scored 22 goals for the Dutch club this season in the Eredivisie and Dutch cup and valued at mere 6 million euros.
