Two-Way tussle for Benteke

West Ham join Christian Benteke chase

07 July 2016 - 07:51

West Ham United will look to rival Crystal Palace for the services of Liverpool striker Christian Benteke. The Belgian has been strongly linked with a summer exit after he fell-out-favour under Jurgen Klopp last season.

  • Benteke was restricted to just 15 league starts at Anfield following his move from Aston Villa in 2015.

Recent reports suggested that the Eagles could have a clear route to the 25-year-old with manager Alan Pardew ready to pay a club-record fee for the player's signature.

However, according to The Sun, the Hammers have joined the chase for the marksman after they failed in their pursuit of Michy Batshuayi.

The Marseille frontman was believed to be on his way to East London before a late approach from Chelsea lured the player to Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool are willing to accept offers in the range of £31m for their player in the transfer window.
