Chelsea offer Loic Remy in record deal for Romelu Lukaku

03 August 2016 - 07:39

Chelsea have placed Loic Remy as makeweight in a deal which could see Everton striker Romelu Lukaku return to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Belgian has revealed his intention to win trophies at a top European club next season.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Antonio Conte's side had initially failed with a straight-cash offer for the 23-year-old, who netted 18 times during the previous campaign.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues have proposed a fresh £65m bid for the player with Remy being offered as part of the deal.

Remy is desperate for first-team football, and a move to the Toffees could earn him the much-needed gametime.

Should things go as planned, Lukaku would be the Blues' record signing beating the £50m sum paid to recruit Fernando Torres from Liverpool in January 2011.

Lukaku joined the Toffees on a temporary basis from Chelsea in 2013, before making the move permanent in the season which followed. He has appeared in 127 games for the Merseyside outfit till date.
