A delegation of Manchester United officials have flown to New York today to tie up a deal of Paul Pogba, according to reports.
The Telegraph is reporting that members of the Manchester United hierarchy have travelled to New York, where Pogba is currently on holiday, to tie up a move to make the Frenchman a United player once again, having left the club four years ago.
In a saga that has dominated the back pages for most of the summer, Pogba has been linked with a return to Old Trafford for a world record breaking fee of £100 million.
After several twists and turns, and after fighting off rival interest from Real Madrid, it finally appears that United are set to get their man, and could even announce Pogba's signing at some point today.
New United manager José Mourinho highlighted four key players he wanted to sign upon joining the club, and following the arrivals of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal, veteran Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer, and Armenian playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, Pogba will complete the Portuguese coach's wish list of arrivals.
Pogba initially joined United as a teenager in 2009, before leaving the club in 2012, having grown frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities he was being afforded by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The French player became a key performer for Juventus, winning four straight Serie A titles during his stay with the Bianconeri.
