Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has told the club of his desire to join Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

  • Premium Sport is reporting that the Serbian midfielder's agent has met with menbers of the Chelsea board to inform them that his client wishes to join the Italian champions during the current transfer window.

Juve are on the lookout for a replacement for Paul Pogba, after the French midfielder completed his world record £89 million move to Manchester United yesterday.

Premium Sport also claims that the Bianconeri are offering Italy international Simone Zaza as a makeweight in their offer for Matic, in order to reduce the cost of the potential transfer.

Zaza has been the subject of interest from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg this summer, with the Wolves said to be willing to pay up to €25 million for the former Palermo marksman.

Matic is thought to figure highly in the Old Lady's wish list of possible replacements for Pogba, alongside the likes of Blaise Matuidi and Axel Witsel.

Although, Juve may be out of luck in their pursuit of Matuidi, as Paris Saint Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently claimed that the 29-year-old will not be sold this summer.

Where as the Bianconeri are said to have been put off by Zenit St Petersburg's €30 million valuation of Belgian midfielder Witsel, and will now reportedly wait to sign the 27-year-old on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
