Barcelona will return for Hector Bellerin

20 September 2016 - 06:52

Barcelona have identified Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin as a potential winter target. The Catalan giants failed with an enquiry for their former graduate in the summer transfer window.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Bellerin, 21, has evolved into a key player for the Gunners over the past year, and he is now regarded as one among the best right-backs in the Premier League.

Spanish source Sport suggests that the Catalan giants will return for the youngster in the New Year with Aleix Vidal likely to end his association at Camp Nou.

Vidal has struggled to cement a regular role since Dani Alves' departure (Juventus - free transfer), with Sergi Samper being preferred ahead of him in the pecking order.

Bellerin is well known for his attacking instinct, and the Spanish champions believe the player would be the right fit for the club as they move forward,

The Spain international is currently assessing his future at the Emirates, and could leave the Gunners, should Arsene Wenger not be offered a fresh deal.

Arsenal are yet to start negotiations over a new contract with Wenger with his current contract due to expire in 10 months' time.

Bellerin joined the Gunners from the famous La Masia academy back in 2011.
