Ryan Giggs was snubbed by Swansea City after the Liberty Stadium club interviewed the Welshman for their manager’s position but instead elected to appoint American coach Bob Bradley, according to reports.
The Mirror is reporting that Manchester United legend and former assistant manager Ryan Giggs was interviewed by Swansea City for their vacant manager’s position, but the Welshman was deemed uninspiring when meeting with the club’s directors.
The Swans instead chose to appoint former MLS manager Bob Bradley, who becomes the first American to manager a Premier League team.
Indeed, Bradley, who leaves his position in charge of French second division side Le Havre, is the first American to manage a club in the top flight of either England, Spain, Italy, France or Germany.
Giggs, who left his position as assistant manager at Old Trafford when Jose Mourinho was appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor in June, will no whave to continue his search for his first managerial job.
The Welshman, who spent more than 20 years in the United first team as a player, was hopeful of being appointed manager of the Red Devils, first after David Moyes was sacked in April 2014, and then when van Gaal was dismissed at the end of last season.
The 42-year-old has been linked with several management positions in recent months, but he is believed to be looking for the right opportunity.
