Hector Bellerin ruled out for four weeks

17 November 2016 - 10:17

Premier League giants Arsenal will be without the services of Hector Bellerin for at least a month after he sustained an ankle problem.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Spain international was initially deemed doubtful for the Premier League clash at Manchester United over the weekend, but it is now confirmed that he will be out for a much lengthy period.

While speaking to reporters earlier today, Wenger revealed the right-back would miss up to four weeks of first-team action due to the result of a 'very strong tackle' from Danny Rose in the final stages of the 1-1 draw versus Tottenham Hotspur on November 6.

Bellerin has owned the right-back position at the Emirates in recent seasons, and his absence is likely to be a huge blow for the Gunners, who may have to rely on an undercooked Carl Jenkinson.

Jenkinson has only recently overcome a knee injury, and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the Manchester United attack on Saturday.

Mathieu Debuchy is another player in the Arsenal ranks, but Arsene Wenger does not see him as part of his plans for the season.
