Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho will be sidelined for the best part of six weeks after he sustained an ankle injury over the weekend.
The Brazil international was stretchered off during the 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday after his foot was caught Didier Ndong in a tussle for the ball before the 30 minute mark.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had confirmed that his attacker would undergo a series of scans on Monday, and according to The Mail, the 24-year-old will not return to the first-team action until the New Year.
Coutinho is likely to miss the Reds' next seven fixtures in the Premier League, and this will come as a big blow for the club, who are dependent on him to pull the strings upfront.
The Brazilian has netted five goals and as many assists for the Reds, who are currently second in the league standings.
