Barcelona attacker linked with Arsenal move

Arsenal are reported to be lining up a £25m approach for Barcelona's Arda Turan in the summer. The Turkey international has struggled to cement himself a regular spot since his arrival from Atletico Madrid two season ago.

  • Turan, 30, has largely played as a substitute at Camp Nou with manager Luis Enrique finding it hard to leave out one of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez or Neymar unless they require a rest.

The former Atleti man was understood to be house-hunting in London during the winter transfer window, and according to The Times, he could be the subject of interest from the Gunners this summer.

The north London giants could be willing to pay up a fee of around £25m for the Turk, who is being seen as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez on the left wing.

Sanchez has yet to finalize a contract beyond the end of the 2017/18 season, and there is every possibility that he could be sold in the coming transfer window.

Turan, who has netted 13 goals for Barcelona during the ongoing campaign, has highlighted his desire to see out the remaining three years of his contract despite playing a backup role.
