German club Borussia Monchengladbach are open to the prospect of securing a permanent move for Andreas Christensen from his two-year loan stint from Chelsea.

  • The Denmark international has been ever-present for the Bundesliga outfit in recent years, and his performances have made him a favourite among the club's faithful.

Recent speculation has suggested that Christensen could return to Stamford Bridge with Conte eager to integrate him into his squad ahead of their Champions League challenge next term.

However, according to The Express, Monchengladbach could yet have a say on the player's future as they plan a club-record attempt to secure his signature.

Monchengladbach are understood to be holding out for a £13m sum for the centre-back which is still some £7m short of Chelsea's valuation.

Christensen has appeared in over 75 outings for Monchengladbach during his two-year spell in the Bundesliga. In the same period, the 21-year-old has made his mark at the international stage with six caps to date.
