Owen: I will score more goals

04 February 2008 - 20:28

Newcastle striker Michael Owen has admitted he has not been playing to the best of his abilities but promised he would shortly return back to form and help the Toon back to winning ways.

  • Chelsea eyeing part-exchange deal to sign Osimhen
  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • Owen scored his first goal for some time when he scored on 60 minutes against Middlesbrough in the Premiership at the weekend.

"Confidence is a big thing in football and if you are not scoring everything seems to fall away," he said in the Daily Mail.

"Hopefully now I will go on a nice little run. With the players we have, Kevin will get this club moving in the right direction.

"I think a few of us, myself included, have not quite played to our full potential but that spark will come with a win."
