Another Premier League team joins race for Manchester City striker

Manchester City and Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho is regarded by many as one of the brightest talents for the future. However, it appears that the youngster is not part of Pep Guardiola\'s plans at the club, which has lead a number of clubs to enquire about signing him.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso

  • At twenty years of age, Iheanacho has a bright future ahead of him and has impressed in the little game time that he has been offered during his time at Manchester City. With Sergio Aguero set to stay at the club and teenage sensation Gabriel Jesus forcing his way into the team, it looks likely that Iheanacho will have to leave to get more game time.

The Birmingham Mail today reports that West Bromwich Albion are the latest team to join the race to sign the Nigerian international. The Baggies join the likes of fellow Premier League teams Southampton and West Ham, who have recently been linked with a move for him, as well as Bundesliga teams Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim.

It is expected that signing Iheanacho will cost the successful team around £20 million. With the attacker still being very young, and the natural eye for goal that he has already displayed, that could prove to be a bargain for any prospective buyers.
