Man City in for Juventus left-back?

07 June 2017 - 09:25

Manchester City have reportedly turned their attention towards Juventus' Alex Sandro as they look to bolster their options on left side of the defence.

  • Chelsea midfielder wants to play in Olympic games
  • Arsenal favourites to sign French winger ahead of Chelsea

  • The Citizens are very short in the defensive department with Aleksandar Kolarov being the only natural full-back present in their ranks.

Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, and Gael Clichy have all been released at the expiry of their contracts with Pep hoping to revive City's title ambitions with a new look backline.

According to The Sun, the Citizens could be inclined to pursue a deal for Sandro this summer with Monaco playing hardball over discussions for Benjamin Mendy.

The Principality outfit sold Bernardo Silva to the Citizens for £43m last month, but they are reluctant to sell another of their star assets on a similar package.

On the other hand, Sandro could be available for a fee of around £42m with the Old Lady prepared to make significant changes following the club's failure to clinch the Champions League crown.
