Liverpool have completed the much-anticipated transfer of Mohamed Salah from AS Roma on a five-year contract for a reported fee of £34m. The former Chelsea man notched 15 goals and 11 assists for the Giallorossi during the previous campaign.

  • Salah first came on the Reds radar back in January 2014 but Chelsea managed to hijack deal after they agreed on a £11m with Basel. He therein made just six starts for the Blues before moving on loan to Fiorentina and AS Roma, signing for the latter permanently in 2016.

Liverpool had been negotiating the final sum for Salah's transfer for the past few weeks, and the attacker will become a Reds player when the transfer window reopens on July 1.

"We have a great team and very good players. I was watching the games last year and everyone was giving 100 percent to win something. Everyone can see the coach gives everything. I hope to see that together we can give everything to win something for the club, for the supporters and for us." he told the club's official website.

Salah is unlikely to break straight into the starting lineup with Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino currently the preferred combination for Jurgen Klopp upfront.
