Premier League side Everton have emerged as surprise contenders to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez during the winter transfer window.
The Chile international has just eight months left on his contract, and this has led to constant speculation over his future at the Emirates.
Sanchez was apparently on the cusp of joining Manchester City during the summer transfer window, but the move fell through due to the Gunners' inability to find a replacement.
According to The Sun, Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri is eyeing an ambitious attempt to sign Sanchez in the New Year - with City unlikely revive their interest until next summer.
Sanchez is clear on his mind to join a Champions League-based club in the future, but Moshiri is said to fancy his chances having made a number of illustrious signings of late including Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has recently refused to rule out the winter exit of Alexis Sanchez, and The Sun suggests a £30m fee could be sufficient to do business.
